California Residents: Proposition 65 Warning
This simplifies the programming of the light bar functions.
It’s confusing because the pictures show two buttons on the remotes but tech support says the new remotes all have four buttons. I thought I had the wrong remotes sent to me because of this issue.
I bought this for the Excalibur light bar. BE ADVISED: this isn’t truly a remote. You don’t need to get up and flick a switch on your TV each time you want to use your remote, do you? To use this Putco remote you must first get your light bar into programming mode. The remote will not do this. You have get under the truck and get access to the wiring. You must ground the programming wire. After doing this the remote does indeed act as a remote. After programming you have to remove the ground from the programming wire. This is why this isn’t truly a remote. There is a workaround that Putco doesn’t provide. Permanently ground the programming wire with an inline switch that you can reach without any effort. Activate the switch to ground the wire. Deactivate the switch to unground the wire. C’mon Putco, do better.
After having a complete set of 4 of the 48 inch e blades fail and have to be exchanged and the 2 – 12′ blades work and not fail but we got everything to work properly finally
so this works well but be sure you have the right version of blades. We had to exchange our emergency blades for a newer version to get this to work.
Nice remote but will see it performance when the led bar works correctly.
This wireless remote was easy to install and works as advertised. After installing my light bar I used it to set the various lights in the patterns I wanted. Took about 3 minutes to set all the patterns.
