Step 1 — Verify Harness Connection
Please confirm whether the harness is currently connected to the passenger-side or driver-side headlight assembly. The pin configuration differs between the driver and passenger sides. If the harness is currently connected to the passenger-side headlight, please perform the following:
- – Disconnect the harness from the passenger-side headlight
- – Reconnect it to the driver-side headlight
- – Test the emblem again
Step 2 — Direct Battery Test
If the emblem still does not illuminate after switching the connection:
- Disconnect the emblem from the vehicle harness
- Test the emblem by connecting it directly to the vehicle’s battery
- – The black wire to the negative battery terminal
- – The red wire to the positive battery terminal
Step 3 — Reverse Polarity Test
If the emblem still does not light up during the battery test, reverse the polarity and test again using the following configuration:
- – Connect the black wire to the positive (+) battery terminal
- – Connect the red wire to the negative (-) battery terminal

Is a Quick Connect Harness Available for the Rear Emblem?
At this time, we do not offer a Quick Connect Harness for the rear emblem. The rear emblem must be hardwired directly into the taillights or license plate marker lights for proper functionality.
Can the Rear Emblem Be Wired to Function as an Additional Brake Light?
The rear emblem was not designed or intended to function as an additional brake light and is not recommended for that application. The emblem features a startup sequence each time power is applied. If wired into the brake light circuit, the startup sequence would activate every time the brakes are engaged. This may result in an unusual or inconsistent lighting appearance, particularly during frequent stop-and-go traffic conditions.
Why Doesn’t the Ford OEM Emblem Feature a Startup Sequence?
The OEM emblems sold through Ford are designed differently and do not feature a startup sequence. They also operate at a lower brightness level by design, in accordance with Ford’s specific product and lighting requirements.
Why Does the Emblem I Received Include a Glued Spray Washer Cap When I Ordered the Version Without Spray Washer Compatibility?
For certain vehicle applications, we only offer the following emblem configurations:
- – Without a camera and without spray washer compatibility
- – With a camera and with spray washer compatibility
If the vehicle is equipped with a front camera but does not utilize a spray washer system, the spray washer cap will be factory-installed and permanently secured in place. This is intentional and part of the product’s designed configuration.
The Wire Colors on My Truck Do Not Match the Rear Emblem Installation Instructions
There have been several variations in wiring color configurations across different Ford truck model years and trim levels. For the most reliable installation, we recommend connecting the rear emblem to the license plate marker light circuit.
