1-awful instruction
-I know how to use a QR code but how hard is it to put a paper in package full of cardboard. Qr code doesn’t even bring you to right page
I had to find a video on youtube and even then the parts in the video were not the same as on my truck.
-I ended up with 2 nuts which I have no clue where they should go.
2- pocket anchors seem sturdy but bad design. Holding mounting plate with rubber bands is a bad design. I should have used beefier elastics since mine kept on breaking. Would have been nice if they were provided. However, the mounting plate should already be welded inside the bracket
3- I tried installing both end and rail like in the video found on YouTube; one side went well but the other side was not going in. So easier method is to install both end first and then drop them on stake pocket at same time by being careful not to break these elastics that hold the mounting plate
4- I don’t know if they actually installed them on new ram or they just figured out the bracket for the stake pocket (that actually line up perfect with all holes) but after tightening every thing on my 2022 ram 1500 new model, the cab rail has sunk. I will have to put some putty to close the gap.
Overall, they seem sturdy and beefier aluminum than my last rail (hex rails).
However installation process should be better for the price they are (not cheap at all!!!).
After installing these on my 2022 GMC I bought a set for my 2022 Ram Power wagon for the purpose of mounting a roof top tent. I bought the cross bars along with the rails. The front stake pocket clamps were a little to long to secure the bolt through the hole in the stake pocket. I drilled the stainless plate up a little higher and reinstalled the speed nut and everything went together fine. I mounted the tent on the cross bars and was able to keep the tent below the roof line yet still be tall enough to let me roll up my Bak X2 metal bed cover. Very clean install that looks and works great.
I installed these on my new 2024 Santa Cruz. They look great. I was glad I did not have to put any horizontal bolts in the inside of the bed side, everything mounted through the stake hole. Installation was a bit cumbersome, but want fine and I love the look. Better than the OEM ones by far.
I installed the Venture tec bed rail system on my 2022 GMC pickup in about 1 hour. Very solid with no drilling needed. I found it easiest to loosely assemble the four corner pieces to the drop in mounting brackets and then drop the into the stake pockets and attach the supplied nuts through side of stake pockets then install the rails and tighten everything.
